Routes to Funding

No single mechanism fits every forest. The right route depends on what a forest holds, how it is changing and what a country needs. We start with the evidence, then match each area to the funding that suits it.

REDD+ Results-Based Payments

For countries reducing deforestation and forest degradation against an assessed reference level. Payments follow verified results, so a country can benefit even while its forests remain a net source of emissions.

Tropical Forest Forever Facility

Launched at COP30 in November 2025, the facility pays tropical forest countries each year for the forest they keep standing, provided deforestation stays below its eligibility threshold.

Article 6 Cooperation

Under the Paris Agreement, countries can transfer mitigation outcomes to one another. Each transfer must be authorised by the host country and correspondingly adjusted so that no outcome is counted twice. This route suits forests that deliver additional, verifiable gains.

Corporate Climate Contributions

Companies can fund forest protection beyond their own value chains and report verified contributions, without claiming to offset their own emissions.

How We Help

We assess each country's forests, identify which routes fit which areas, prepare the evidence each mechanism requires, and structure and manage the finance that follows. Eligibility decisions rest with each mechanism and the host government.
